The middle of a lull

Today just so happens to be new years day 2009. I haven't really been to work for more than a few minutes in the last two weeks and I don't have to go back to work regularly for another week or so. I do have to go back to work tomorrow though.
The last few weeks have been a roller coaster of me being sick, the family being sick. Cabin fever. about 4 feet of snow. The shoveling of said four feet of snow. Warming and cooling of the car and attempts at circulating some fresh air into this stale house. It's been interesting.
I have stopped smoking which is a huge plus. I'm on stage two of my patches and only have one stage left. I should have the stuff completely out of my system reletively soon.
Life is settling back into a normal rut now that andrea is starting to get better. It's kind of nice to have her awake during the day again.
She has made an interesting series of changes lately that I made notice of. Andrea is spending less and less time cussing me for being involved with the church. She isn't cussing me for the payment of tithing. And she even broke down and asked me to give her a blessing. I provided the blessing as requested.
The blessing thing is a whole other side note in my head. How do I know that I said the right words? I mean, I prayed fervently before giving the blessing that I would be able to be inspired while giving it. I prayed intently while preparing the oil. And I prayed fervently afterwards. Now, I understand how the process is supposed to work, I just really hope that I did it justice and gave the words that I was supposed to.
Lillie is being a punk lately. She doesn't like the idea of going to bed. She also likes the idea of waking up at 1am again.
I'm attributing this all to a messed up schedule from me being home all the time. As soon as I go back to work, things should go back to normal. Or, so I hope.
I finally built the toy kitchen that Lillie got for christmas. That endeavour took almost 2 hours. Lots of screws and lots of little pieces. But, i finished it. While I was building that however, andrea brought me my drink and a mouse that was kinda sticky. Apparently, lillie had the notion that computer mice like to go swimming in soda. So, I was mad but poured myself back into what I was doing. An hour later, Andrea came back and asked me if my mouse still worked. I looked at the mouse and said I hadn't tried it, but that is when I noticed that the receiver was still sitting in the soda, floating straight up and down.
*More cussing at the floor*
I dried everything out, and after wiping off the inside today (three days later), I tested it and the whole thing still works. It's a small miracle, and it may not be a big deal to most, but I'm grateful for it.
I need to do more laundry. I need to clean my kitchen. And I need to get my lunch out of the oven. I'm going to go take care of that now.
